Are the questions AI generated?
No. I wrote each question myself. My questions are based on my own experience with sitting the SQE1 in November 2021 and years of tuition. Kaplan (the company that write the real SQE) do not use AI to write their questions and I have mimicked their style of writing, language and length of questions as closely as possible. I have attended a question writing workshop with Kaplan and adopted all of their tips and techniques for question writing.
Do I have to sit the mock as soon as I have purchased?
No, you will receive an email from Benchmark after your purchase for you to create your mock test online account. You can then choose when to actually sit the mock.

I don’t have time to do a full mock, can I sit session 1 and session 2 on different days?
Yes. If you are sitting the mock test in timed “exam mode” you can finish session 1 and press submit and leave the exam by closing your tab. When you log back in you can complete session 2. You will receive your results for both sessions after submitting session 2.

What makes this mock different to other providers’ mocks?

I have personally sat SQE1, scoring in the top quintile on my first attempt. I sat the very first SQE1 in November 2021 and noticed when sitting the exam how different the exam felt to when I did my provider’s questions. I have tutored SQE students since 2022 and regularly heard the same, “my provider’s questions were nothing like the real thing”. I think this is because many providers have not sat the exam themselves. So, I decided to create the Laura in Law mock tests, written by someone with experience with the exam.
Many providers use AI generated questions which are not reflective of the questions you will get on your exam day. Kaplan, the writers of the SQE, do not use AI to write their questions. So, neither do I. None of my questions are AI generated.
I have personally attended a question writing workshop with Kaplan and have applied their tips and advice for writing my own questions for these mocks.
